Who We Are

Our staff are all registered with SSSC and the majority have either completed SVQ2 or are working towards that end.

We have 46 staff in total, working between 16 and 35 hours per week, depending upon their circumstances. Some staff members have been with us for many years, progressing from Care Attendant to Senior, to Co- Ordinator, and on to Care Manager. Our Service Manager has also worked in the community. This breadth of experience helps to ensure the quality of care we give remains constant, and that the needs of our staff are always taken into consideration.

Our Office Staff

Gill Renton

Gill Renton. Manager.

Gill has worked with Crossroads (Perth & Kinross) since 1998, starting as a Care Attendant, and then moving into the office as a Co-Ordinator. She was appointed Manager in 2015, bringing her years of practical experience and organisational insight to her new role.

The provision of quality care is extremely important to Gill, as is the support and well-being of her staff.

In her free time Gill enjoys spending time with family and friends, Aquarobics, and listening to music.

I started working here in August 2019 as a Finance Manager. My role involves payroll, invoicing and related tasks with a view to be trained up to preparing annual accounts and budgets. Everyone is very friendly, helpful and caring. The flexibility and independence helps me manage my work and plan around any personal circumstances. This is my first job after having children and I couldn’t have asked for a better employer that cares about their employees as much as the business. I am getting the opportunity to start from the daily tasks and being trained up to doing more complex accounting once I am settled, which is a great because I am a recent graduate so don’t have the experience required. I am one of those fortunate people who don’t wake up in the morning dreading to go to work.

I have worked with Crossroads (Perth & Kinross) for 19 years, I was a Care Attendant, then a supervisor before coming into the office to work as a Co-ordinator 3 years ago.

I occasionally still carry out care and respite. Crossroads is a good organisation to work for.

I have worked with Crossroads (Perth & Kinross) since 1997, when I started, the flexibility of working around my young child appealed to me. I had previously worked in an office and different care settings.

Through the years I increased my hours to suit my family life. I enjoy the variety of working with clients and also completing assessments and reviews.

I have been a Carer with Crossroads (Perth & Kinross) for 3 years, having previously worked as a primary school teacher and Co-ordinator for Home-start.

Working with Crossroads is such a worthwhile, satisfying and rewarding job. Being out and about in the community, spending quality time, giving care and support, and making a positive difference, enabling the elderly and disabled to remain in their won homes is such a privilege. Each day is different and interesting and may involve anything from supporting someone to get ready for the day ahead, playing a game of dominoes, painting nails, or having a sing song, or going out for a run in the car, chatting about the good old days. Keeping someone company allows their family member to have some much needed time out. The ongoing training and support offered ensures I am confident and prepared in my job role. Crossroads (Perth & Kinross) is a great charity to work for!

I came to work for Crossroads in January 2017 after completing a degree in social work.  I needed to gain some working experience in the care sector it seemed the perfect opportunity.  Two and a half years later I enjoy the experience so much I am still here.  Every day is different and I have met so many interesting people.  I love listening to stories of time gone by and seeing the difference the service makes to the lives of service users and their carers

I joined Crossroads in November 2018 without any prior experience as a Carer.

I am a qualified bookbinder and worked as a book restorer for many years.

At Crossroads I received all my training in house and everyday continue to be supported by the tremendous team. As a Carer I am in a privileged position working with special people who inspire me each day in many ways. I thoroughly enjoy working as a Carer at Crossroads.
